Patrol officers are responsible for a myriad of enforcement and investigative duties including, but not limited to: crimes against persons and property, traffic control and motor vehicle enforcement, motor vehicle accident investigations, and civil disturbances.
Patrol Officers have the opportunity to receive specialized training in the areas of: SWAT, School Resource Officer, Field Training Officer, Bicycle Patrol, Accident Reconstruction, Drug Recognition, Firearms, Taser, Defensive Tactics, Detectives, crime scene investigations, and many other areas of interest.

The Dispatch Center handles calls for the City of Franklin and 5 other towns. Duties include but are not limited to; answering and giving out multi-jurisdictional radio calls, routine phone calls and 911 emergency phone calls. Communications Dispatchers enter detailed information into a complex computer aided dispatch software system, monitoring multiple radio frequencies for various agencies. Successful applicants will possess excellent typing and communications skills, impeccable judgment, common sense, strong work ethic, the ability to safeguard confidential information and the desire to protect life and property.
